Serpent’s Blade

For the gate has been named and entered
And the blood gift received on the fall back to earth
Among the burning landscapes the grand has gone
The spirit will meet and deny thine entrance

First they shall observe
the hollow moon of purification
and must approach the shadow throne
In poisoned night the air’s bewitching
and a sudden wail breaks the calm
The beast-like cries stir over the encampment
and the creak of old bones wear the mind down
The serpent’s blade creeps knowingly
to the veins that will open the
fresh crimson nourishment and the
Sordid life’s curse continues everlasting
to the end of time’s decay, recording
No past if future and the terrible knowledge
of mankind’s ultimate undoing

Destroy the soul then begin anew
Drink from the everlasting fountain of pain
To the touch, the red light glowing
Taste the silky sweet, fiery cauldron brew
Enter the dead final stage
Lack of pulse, the bloodlust grows

End. End of the line.
The glorious dead approaches
They proceed from the hidden retreat
